[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – The Job Shield America Campaign, a new legal reform coalition of American employers, has launched its first television ad to support efforts in Congress to provide the healthcare industry, small businesses, and employers a safe harbor liability shield from frivolous COVID-19 related lawsuits. Such protections are essential as America’s businesses reopen and bring Americans back to work in the midst of the ongoing pandemic.

The coalition’s new ad will begin airing tomorrow in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia in support of anticipated COVID Liability Shield legislation.

“Just as the world is seeking a vaccine to provide immunity from COVID-19, American companies and small businesses, which are the backbone of our economy, need a vaccine from the crushing wave of lawsuits that threaten jobs and the economic recovery of America,” said Job Shield America spokesperson Christian Stellakis. “It is also imperative to ensure that our healthcare system and the race for a vaccine not be impeded by undue liability. Now more than ever America needs jobs and healthcare, not lawsuits.”

The Job Shield America Campaign has been created to spare American workers from the threat frivolous litigation presents to America’s public health and economic recovery. To achieve a sustainable national economic recovery, Job Shield America believes it is critical that Congress and the states adopt legal liability protections for our healthcare heroes and providers, manufacturers and organizations involved in the recovery effort, and all businesses seeking to re-open and re-enter the economy.
